At Moss Hey:  Children to become independent, creative problem solvers and thinkers, which will help them to identify needs and opportunities for making constructions and products to fit in today’s world.

Intent

At Moss Hey Primary School, our Design and Technology curriculum provides children with opportunities to develop their skills by designing a specific product, for a specific user, for a specific purpose. Children learn skills linked with textiles, mechanisms, structures, electrical systems and food and nutrition. Throughout all year groups, children learn to explore, design, make and evaluate using their design and technology skills and ideas, whilst also developing their creativity and problem-solving skills.  Children are encouraged to become innovators and risk-takers.

We believe high-quality design and technology education makes an essential contribution to the creativity, culture, wealth and well-being of the future.
